The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will join the Combustion Devices group in leading development manufacturing efforts on next generation propulsion systems. You will have a breadth of manufacturing experience with technical depth in 2 or more areas – additive manufacturing, castings, forming, machining, welding, or assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing development efforts in multiple technical areas from 3D printing, machining, welding, forming, to brazing.
- Establish and communicate design for manufacturing principles in a collaborative role with the design engineering group
- Champion early development hardware to enable aggressive development engine programs, committing a hands-on role to first builds
- Support critical production needs for scaling, cost reduction, yield/quality related issues
- Lead strategic insourcing efforts across the manufacturing landscape
- Develop, publish, and maintain manufacturing and process specifications
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
· Hands on experience building development liquid propulsion engines or flight engine hardware
· 5+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing role
Desired Experience:
· Experience with 5-axis machining, hands on machine operation or working knowledge
· Experience with combustion devices for liquid rocket engines
· Experience and working knowledge of with laser powder bed fusion / additive processes
· Experience with Siemens NX, Windchill
Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $90,000 – $130,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
