Summary:
The SVP, Business Development, Civil and Commercial Global Sales and Strategy will provide leadership and strategic growth for the US and European Redwire Growth Teams with our civil and commercial customers and programs. The SVP of BD is responsible for growing annual sales in the global civil and commercial sector across several offerings and business locations. The SVP of BD will also be responsible for identifying new markets, providing vision and strategy that will drive sales, providing competitor analyses and market intelligence, and drive large, cross-product bids. The SVP of BD should have proven experience guiding teams from lead generation to contract signature, creating positive outcomes in contract negotiations, upselling by offering multiple products and capabilities, and people management and mentorship.
The SVP of BD will report directly to the Chief Growth Officer and will be a full remote position. The position will be expected to travel domestically and internationally several times each quarter to close bookings, nurture customer relationships, represent the company at conferences and other speaking engagements, and connect with proposal teams. As a member of the senior leadership team, the SVP of BD will also be committed to continued business improvements and will represent the Growth Team on behalf of the CGO when delegated.
The ideal candidate will have more than 15 years of direct experience in business development, sales, and growth. The candidate should have a deep knowledge of the global space industry and strong relationships with civil and commercial space leaders, including at NASA, ESA, and private sector companies.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and grow an extensive network of relationships with both existing and existing and new Redwire customers
Lead sales/business development with the responsibility to grow civil and commercial annual sales by $100M+
Lead, shape, and present to senior and executive leadership near-term growth strategies that align with corporate and business growth objectives
Identify, structure, and lead the capture of new opportunities by leveraging internal research and development investments
Lead business development participation in technology road mapping projects
Explore and nurture partnerships with key organizations in industry, government, and academia
Provide market and competitor intelligence on market segments where the business is currently engaged and strategic insights on growth paths into other potential segments
Represent the company in select speaking engagements and conferences

Ideal Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of direct experience in sales and business development
Demonstrated ability to lead a sales organization ($100M+ annual sales)
Demonstrated ability to win contract opportunities in the space industry
Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate a business development/sales team
Existing network of senior contacts and the ability to leverage these contacts to create business opportunities
Knowledge of competitors in this market space and experience in competitive assessment; experience in developing large government proposals
Excellent oral communication and writing skills
Ability to work in a dynamic time-sensitive environment
Self-starter who can be trusted to operate with limited direction
Must have US Citizenship with ability to obtain a government security clearance
