The company will develop new transportation solutions utilizing its heavy lunar lander, currently in the development phase. The contract will also fund research into mobile vehicles for the Artemis program, leveraging expertise from the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services initiative.
One-Year Development Timeline
The project is set to last one year, with work beginning in the coming months. Intuitive Machines CEO Steve Altemus emphasized that this initiative is a critical step toward establishing sustainable human presence on the Moon.
