The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Software Engineering Undergraduate Intern for an opportunity within our Software Implementation and Integration Department. This group is part of the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) and is responsible for full life cycle software engineering and application development. This position will be located at in Chantilly, VA.
Work Model
This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required in Chantilly, VA.
What You’ll Be Doing
Participates in the software design & implementation of a simulated space system.
Develops prototype software in Python, Java & C to operate on the simulated space element and the simulated ground element.
Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
Training and mentorship will be provided.

What You Need to Be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field(s)
Minimum GPA 3.0
Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full- time after completion of the internship.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Experience programming in Python, C/C++, or JAVA
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Active TS/SCI
Prior participation in agile software development.
Experience working with common cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
