Job Summary
As a part of the Space Object Risk Team, you will be providing technical capabilities to support our customers in addressing the challenges of situational awareness and hazard assessment/mitigation to operate safely in space.
In this role, you will:

Contribute to multiple focus areas of the department, which include space domain awareness (SDA), SDA data management, space traffic management, space object and debris environment assessment and projections, broad-spectrum interference, and laser deconfliction.

Support real-time operations and analyses including launch and on-orbit collision risk assessments, on-orbit breakup event evaluation and forensics, and deorbit/reentry analysis.
Work Model
This position will require onsite support for a minimum of 3 days in either El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO with partial remote work options.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
-
Currently enrolled fulltime in an accredited college/university program pursuing a (Master’s or PhD) in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical discipline
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
- Min 3.0 GPA

Aptitude in astrodynamics and related mathematics

Skills in the development and use of computer software tools

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
