As part of a hardworking team of avionics integration technicians and engineers, you will build human-rated orbital launch vehicles.
In this role as Avionics Integration Supervisor, you will take charge of a team of skilled avionics technicians, orchestrating their efforts alongside a cross-functional group that includes manufacturing engineers, quality assurance specialists, production coordinators, and planning staff. Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Avionics Integration Team, including developing resource plans and profiles, authorizing job descriptions, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, assigning tasks, and conducting performance reviews.
Interface with area leaders to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
Develop and implement cost reductions processes and efficiency improvement measures.
Implement and refine new manufacturing processes.
Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
Collaborate with engineering to develop production ready manufacturing approach. Review work instructions and provide recommended changes where necessary.
Assure continued training and skills development to attract, develop, and retain great people.
Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment setup, etc.
Assist with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition the product.
Forecasting and developing recovery plans for constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedule.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
Responsible for forging a vision of a better future, strategizing on Blue Origin’s direction, and motivating your team to achieve Blue Origin’s overarching objectives by training, planning, directing, delegating, and monitoring success.
Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.
Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a direct manufacturing role with hands-on and leadership responsibilities, specifically in aerospace avionics/harnessing or related fields, involving a comprehensive range of production methods and techniques; additional experience in aerospace production programs is highly advantageous.
Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
Demonstrates understanding and is able to apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen

Extremely customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Desired:
Strong background with respect to 5s and Six Sigma programs.
Proficiency with resource loaded schedules using Primavera (P6), Open Plan, MS Project, or other software.
Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
Knowledge of avionics fabrication and installation processes.
Must be physically able to:
Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas.
Lift and carry 50 lbs.
Work a consistent schedule of Friday through Sunday, from 6 am to 6 pm.
