Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Consulting Chief Engineer (CE) to serve as the technical leader for the Mako program within the Satellite Missions Business Unit. This position is located in Dulles, VA.
The qualified candidate will serve as the definitive technical authority on the program and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team supporting the design, development, test, and delivery of the Space Vehicle
Job Summary:
The Consulting Engineer position requires an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness to lead the system definition, technical planning and execution on an effort involving several different parts of the company. The Consulting Engineer will be responsible to lead, uncover, and resolve issues associated with the design, development and implementation of this operational program. This individual will work with the customer and OU leadership to understand and meet evolving customer needs. The work accomplished on this program will support long-range strategic goals for the Operating Unit. The Consulting Engineer may serve as consultant to senior leadership in long-range company planning concerning follow-ons to this program for new or projected areas of technological research and advancements.

Salary Range: $206,900.00 – $310,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
