DELIVERY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST – MATERIAL HANDLER

At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 4M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and that work starts here with the Materials Management team in Kent.

The Delivery Systems Specialist position directly supports our Starlink production factory. As Starlink continues to grow, we are expanding our local delivery and logistics operations for satellites and ground station antennae. This role is responsible for the movement and delivery of components, packages and in process materials throughout the Redmond Campus. This is a critical position to the mission of global connectivity, ensuring that production teams are supplied consistently, safely, and reliably. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support production/engineering with the movement of parts to support the master schedule
• Physically move and expedite materials when required in support of production/engineering and meet work order completion dates
• Verify all materials are packaged and banded for transport and assists with loading and unloading of trucks
• Interface with receiving, quality control, purchasing, and other related departments to resolve problems relative to the receipt and distribution of material
• Operate material handling equipment including but not limited to: forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of expediting/material handling experience
• 1+ years of experience operating a forklift and/or material handling motorized vehicles and equipment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working within a manufacturing/production environment
• Experience with barcode scanning to document material movement
• Experience working with aircraft or automotive parts and assemblies
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be available for at least one of the following shifts:
  • 1st Shift: Monday to Friday: 6 AM – 4 PM

  • Split Shift: Monday to Friday: 11AM – 9PM

• Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines. 
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
• Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
• Must be willing to work in an open-aired environment, lacking temperature controls

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:

Delivery Systems specialist/Level 1: $22.00 – $24.00/hour    
Delivery Systems specialist/Level 2: $24.00 – $28.00/hour    
Delivery Systems specialist/Level 3: $26.50 – $30.50/hour    

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
