We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer with experience in both cloud and on-premises software development environments and delivery. As a DevOps Engineer with the SRE team, you will assist the senior engineer in architecture deployment and management for York software platforms. This role will provide primary support for the Kubernetes platform and involve container management through Azure Kubernetes Services and Container Registries. You will create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab runners. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative environment and enjoys the challenge of creating elegant solutions from complex, multi-faceted design requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates ongoing Kubernetes container operations and maintenance on AzureGov cloud environment.
- Azure resource design and configuration, Azure/AWS/Linux network configuration and troubleshooting, and Linux testbed configuration. The candidate will also need to support VMWare and Hyper-V apps in the future.
- Create, build, and code deployment pipelines with Gitlab runners.
- Identify manual processes that can be automated.
- Generate ideas to improve overall system design and/or streamline CI/CD pipeline to generate efficiencies in system flow.
- Participates in configuration management with Ansible and Gitlab platforms.
- Helps with system monitoring and reporting with Splunk, Azure tools and other platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years minimum experience with consumer-facing digital products.
- Networking: Experience with advanced networking concepts including VPNs, IPSec, SD-WAN, cloud route tables, network security groups, linux ip routes, tunneling, packet captures, iptables.
- Linux Experience: The candidate must have experience working with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, Docker, Ansible
- Coding capabilities with Bash, .net, JavaScript.
- Expertise with System and Container management.
- 3-5 years Cloud environment experience.
- Effective communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of monitoring and logging platforms Grafana and Azure Logging.
- Experience in service reliability through Load Balancing, HA, and micro-services.
- Database experience with MySQL, MSSQL, InfluxDB.
- Knowledge of security and compliance needs of cloud environments.
- Experience with Linux kernel builds for FPGAs.
- Facility Infrastructure Knowledge: The candidate must possess a basic understanding of facility infrastructure, including but not limited to firewalls, servers, and other essential network components.
- Azure cloud experience (Certifications are a plus) – VM deployment, VPN Gateway, Networking, Azure Routing Table
- Basic Knowledge of Satellites: The candidate should have a fundamental understanding of satellites and their operational principles.
