AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.
Summary:
One focus area of the Space AST mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that cultivate safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage individuals to manage their health and well-being. To support this focus area, AST seeks a full-time WHS Specialist to lead and implement all AST Space Mobile Safety Program areas as directed by the leadership. The Safety Specialist will promote a safe culture while complying with AST standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes delivering training and coaching associates on observed work habits.
The EHS Coordinator must deliver accurate daily, weekly, and monthly safety metrics to report to onsite management teams and AST-based reporting safety systems. The Safety Specialist must become a key partner with the management’s team to ensure compliance with all Safety Programs, Policies and Procedures, and applicable federal & state laws. The Safety Specialist also conducts risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment on site. In addition, the Safety Specialist is responsible for sharing safety controls and appropriate risk mitigation measures with leadership teams, including ergonomics. Candidate must be willing to work any shift, based on availability. This is an hourly position with an hourly range of $25-$35 based on experience.
