Summary
A critical role across Redwire, the Engineering Design Assurance (All Senior levels will be considered) will be responsible for leadership within the Engineering organization, ensuring successful execution consistent with engineering and design assurance standards and best practices, compliance, statement of work, technical specification, contract deliverables and customer satisfaction.
This successful candidate will work on-site but can be based in our facilities in either Albuquerque, NM or Longmont, CO. There will be up to 25% travel to our other locations.
Responsibilities:
- Establish Engineering Design Assurance standards and best practices with a unified approach across a diverse space manufacturing business consisting of 4 product offerings with execution teams at >10 facilities.
- Champion the deployment of proactive engineering processes focused on delivery of engineering data to continuously increase value and compliance to customer’s requirements while meeting business objectives and mitigating risk.
- Define, create, document, implement, and communicate Engineering standards and best practices across the organization and all product offering groups.
- Work in concert with the development and implementation of Mission Assurance, Operational Improvement, and Lean Initiatives across the company to meet AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and organizational objectives.
- Lead Engineering Design Assurance customer engagements and negotiations.
- Serve as process lead for internal and customer facing technical reviews.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, continuous improvement and design optimization across the organization.
- Provide training, guidance and recommendations to engineering and leadership.
- Create competitive advantage by improving company performance.
Ideal Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Systems or Design Engineering.
- Have a passion for design assurance and engineering excellence.
- Experience in the space industry, including spacecraft and payload architectures and industry standards such as AS9100, TOR, and NASA.
- Understanding of SysML and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering).
- Strong ability to train, educate, influence, and communicate to align participation in standard processes and best practices.
- Previous experience developing and maintaining Engineering processes and best practices and capturing/implementing lessons-learned in a growing low volume, high product mix business
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations. Active Security Clearance is a plus.
