Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Engineering Technician 2/3 to join our ASTAR (Aeronautics Systems Training for Advanced Refinement) team in Palmdale, CA.
As a member of the team, you will provide technical support to Manufacturing Process Engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Support manufacturing concepts and processes for production applications of advanced technologies including, but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, and coatings technologies. Support engineering on process improvement concepts, designs, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques. Provide tool/equipment training and point of use support to manufacturing technicians. Ensure processes and procedures are followed and in compliance with regulations.
Engineering Technician 2:
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of manufacturing experience
Minimum of 1 year direct experience working with systems and/or electrical
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
Ability to work any shift and schedule including 4/10’s or 3/10’s, 1st shift (5am- 3:30pm) or 2nd shift (4:12pm- 2:42am), including overtime as necessary to meet business needs.
This position requires having a current active DOD Secret Clearance
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working overhead
Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam.

Composites and airframe fabrication, assembly, and LO coatings experience
Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Experience with operating and troubleshooting various types of manufacturing tools and/or composition curing equipment
Must be able to individually manage multiple tasks concurrently and provide technical support to business functions on a variety of different projects
Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and process procedures
Ability to interface with various support organizations and levels of management
Engineering Technician 3:

Salary Range: $53,000.00 – $88,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
