Position Overview (Summary/Objective):
ARKA is currently seeking a Facilities Technician to join our team in Ypsilanti, MI. In this role you will be responsible for basic maintenance and repairs, as well as proactive, preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing basic maintenance and repairs on various building infrastructure items such as doors, walls, flooring, windows, etc.
- Responsible for proactive, preventative maintenance, responding to and completing work orders
- Manage and maintain equipment, materials, inventory and stock items
- Loading and unloading of inventory items
- Install/Move/Assemble office furniture to include desks, chairs, file cabinets, bookshelves, and other office equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders, identify roof leaks, change light bulbs, replace ceiling tiles and other related ladder work.
- Provides a wide range support function to all departments throughout the facility, such as special events coordination and set-ups.
- Use snow removal equipment and control ice accumulations with the use of de-icing agents in between snow removal vendor visits
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- High School diploma/G.E.D
- Minimum of 1 year of facilities maintenance experience
- Ability to operate a computer and operate software
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous working experience in commercial facilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment when working with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
