Join the Redwire team in developing and fielding end-to-end innovative mission critical space system solutions for next generation space architecture. At Redwire, you will work closely with customers from concept development through mission operations to ensure mission success.
As a FPGA Design Engineer you will be responsible for the VHDL development within the framework of a satellite equipment, a scientific instrument or ground support equipment (ref ATB3). You will start by designing the IP cores and the code according to the requirements and specifications of the project with attention for details. This should be done in close cooperation with Electronic Engineers, the FPGA Architect, and your fellow FPGA Design Engineers. Documentation of your code (in-line and in separate reports) is crucial for ensuring traceability and quality. You provide technical support in your field of expertise.
You will ensure that the flight FPGA code adheres to our coding rules and that the proper performance is met on all cases by means of core, module and board tests. You will be responsible for verifying your design in a simulation environment (assisted by Continuous Integration tools) as well as on the actual hardware. You have hands on experience with standard lab tools for FPGA validation. You will be responsible for performing synthesis and ‘place&route’ activities for various types of FPGA devices followed by post-layout verification (including static & dynamic timing and design rule checks).
Finally, you will participate in the equipment/instrument level functional and performance test campaigns before handing over the developed VHDL code (including proper documentation) to the client (internal/external).
Desired skills/experience/knowledge:
Interested, but not sure you meet every single requirement? Research shows that men will apply to jobs when they meet only 60% of the requirements, but women and other minority groups may only apply if they’re sure they meet 100%. If you were turning away because you don’t meet 100%, well, we’d still like to hear from you – tell us how you’re the best fit for the requirements you’re sure you meet.
