EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an IT Operations Manager in our Hughes Network Systems division. This role will oversee the maintenance, support, and optimization of the organization’s on-prem and cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliable operations and performance. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of IT professionals, coordinate with other departments, and implement strategies to improve system efficiency and security
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of IT systems, ensuring reliability and availability of services to support the business.
- Maintain and update all IT OPS NOC Policies, Processes, and Procedures
- Includes all physical device details
- Includes all archive processes
- Includes all cabling management
- Includes all local and remote data centers and IT closets
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures, conducting regular audits and coordinating with the security team to address vulnerabilities and risks.
- Manages 24×7 IT network operations center (ITOPSNOC), which monitors infrastructure performance and availability and alerts to notify engineers of resource issues
- Be able to act as the IT Incident Manager for all IT critical incidents
- Maintain an update all KPI reporting processes and monthly reports
- Maintain all change request maintenance mode/alerting activity
- Maintain priority initiative list and status for weekly meetings
- Maintain and review all site air and power conditioning systems (HVAC, UPS, etc.)
- Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software
- Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers
- Ensure data is handled, transferred, or processed according to legal and company guidelines
- Provide support and guidance to stakeholders
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in IT
- Previous experience conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understand technology trends, architectures, and tools to make informed decisions and communicate with other technology teams
- Able to set clear vision, motivate team, foster collaboration, and inspire those on your team to be successful in everything they do
- Understand the organization’s industry to ensure and aid in making strategic decisions
- Ability to analyze the problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions
- Embrace change, stay updated on technology advances and adapt strategies accordingly
- Ability to allocate resources, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
