Turion Space is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to provide advanced support for hardware, software, network and systems troubleshooting, and offer IT support to the team. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth daily IT operations, focusing on minimizing downtime and addressing technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with other Turion Space IT administrators and engineers to gather requirements, research, evaluate, design, plan, deploy, troubleshoot, networks and systems in a world-class environment that meets the needs of the demanding Turion Space engineering teams
- Build highly resilient, high-performance, scalable, and flexible systems
- Exercise a high degree of responsibility for the processes, systems, and tools you create and manage
- Perform hands-on tasks included Configure, install, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and video conferencing equipment
- Manage and support user onboarding, provisioning, de-provisioning, and account creation across multiple platforms
- Maintain accurate documentation, including system configurations, inventory, and troubleshooting guides
- Log and track IT support tickets using systems like Zendesk, Jira, or similar
- Drive scripting and automation to develop solutions to common problems
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and projects, contributing to the team’s overall goals
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of technical experience in configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting, including Help Desk and IT Specialist roles
- Experience with Linux and Windows servers in physical and virtualized enterprise level environments
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Office 365, Linux environments, and backup applications
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira
- Python, Bash, PowerShell (or similar) scripting experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer service focus
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willing to work extended hours or weekends as necessary
- Willing to be on after-hours on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in creating repeatable, reliable, scalable systems architectures, with high availability, fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring, and statistics/metrics collection
- Expert working knowledge, including the ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot, Windows-based systems and services (i.e. SCCM, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP)
- Networking experience in IPv4, switching, routing, firewalls and HA architecture
- Experience with Linux services such as MySQL, InfluxDB, Grafana, NGINX, Apache
- Expertise in source code and version control tools
- Experience with configuration management, provisioning, infrastructure as code, and other DevOps concepts and tools
- Understanding of API’s and the means to build datasets from them
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations
