Salary: £28,000 – £38,000 dependent on experience

The Junior / Commercial Officer is a junior level role operating in our Commercial team. With appropriate guidance and training from the Commercial Leads and wider team, this role will be responsible for supporting the day to day commercial and contract management activities across NGUK’s Defence & National Security customers, as well as assisting the wider Commercial team on other existing contracts and proposals for programmes spanning multiple sectors, including those within Maritime, Aerospace and Cyber.

Responsibilities:

• With guidance, lead day to day contract management and administration activities for multi-million pound contracts.
• Support the preparation for negotiation of contracts terms, licence terms, scope and pricing,  recognising the risk trade-off, working closely with the relevant Commercial team members, Programme Manager, Business Development Manager, Finance Team and Supply Chain Lead and working within approvals
• Engage with and support the legal review of contract terms and conditions
• Support the wider Commercial team with higher value, complexity and strategically significant proposals and negotiations

Your Future Team:

• Join a dedicated, supportive, commercial function – responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of Contracts, which range from Submarine systems development to Cyber & Intelligence solutions;
• Integrate with Delivery teams – to enable the successful execution of programmes of national importance;
• Build lasting relationships with Customers – promoting collaborative best practice;
• Be part of a wider Business Management organisation – working closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Trade Compliance and Project Controls to maximise Business performance.

We are looking for:

• Strong commercial aptitude and organisational skills
• Excellent people and communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service
• Proactive, organised individual, able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Relevant degree (such as Law, Business, Economics) or some industry experience desirable
