Summary
We have a new opportunity for a Lead Systems Engineer. As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will lead the engineering testing of small mechanisms; material testing and process qualifications; and the coordination and follow-up of integration (mechanical and electrical) of flight hardware and associated functional testing. This position includes coordinating with test facilities and overseeing procurements from Polish suppliers. The position will begin in September and will report to the General Manager – Redwire Poland Business Unit.
Responsibilities
• Support technical decision-making and take the technical lead for projects’ entire life cycles, including system and subsystem technical aspects
• Translate customer technical requirements into design, development and test requirements for the various subsystems/units/items as required
• Oversee overall technical coherence amid engineering divisions, supporting the project team during technical reviews, also coordinating, and participating in, system/subsystem level functional and performance test campaigns
• Engage internal and external stakeholders on program technical requirements, to include the coordination of procurements from Polish suppliers and subcontractor management
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical support staff
• Write technical reports and support overall project technical documentation
• Occasional domestic and international travel may be requested
Ideal experience
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
• 3-5 years’ experience as a systems engineer on mechanical projects, with experience developing space mechanisms preferred
• Experience writing technical reports and communicating technical requirements in English
• Must be fluent (verbal & written) in English and Polish
