Working in the Mission Operations team
The Mission Operations team has a vital role driving the delivery of our space mission services. The team collaborates with our in-house tech wizards and international partners to translate complex requirements and technologies into flawless operations. From planning to decommissioning, your role is pivotal every step of the way.
What will you be doing?
This is an exciting role that enables you to have a meaningful impact in Open Cosmos. You’ll be responsible for preparing and executing flight operations of the Open Cosmos growing spacecraft fleet. This is a great opportunity to provide support to the satellite and mission control software development teams by bringing your operational expertise. This is a unique opportunity to take part in all the stages of a space mission from its early conception to its final decommissioning.
You’ll spearhead the creation of automation strategies, refining flight operations to their most efficient form. Your expertise will be the driving force in ensuring that our missions are not just successful but are conducted with the highest degree of excellence.
Dive deep into mission data and emerge with insights that will shape our future. Your analytical prowess will be crucial in identifying trends, troubleshooting issues, and proposing solutions to enhance the performance and reliability of our spacecraft.
Alongside this you will be ready to support flight operations following a rotational on-call service to quickly respond or prevent operational anomalies at any time. Anomaly situations may lead to severe consequences for Open Cosmos and its customers. Hence, during post-launch operations, we expect you to strictly follow operational procedures and report when appropriate to escalate emergencies.
We are focused on delivering our best to our clients, therefore as part of the nature of mission operations, you may be required to work occasionally in a shift pattern with other members of the Mission Operations team to support flight operations (especially when tackling Launch and Early Orbit, Commissioning or Decommissioning activities).
This is a unique opportunity, are you ready for it?
