Job Description

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Integrator) / Sr. Principal Software Engineer (Integrator) for their Aurora, CO location. As a part of the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) team, an Integration & Test engineer gains an understanding of the Systems Engineering process across a product’s lifecycle and gains a full appreciation for how the systems operate.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to complete tasks with little direction and oversight. They will be an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics, integrity.

Responsibilities for an Integration Engineer include familiarity with Automated Testing framework, software baseline deployment, testing and troubleshooting the environment, Reading error logs, and coordinate corrections with the development team.  Additional responsibilities may include an understanding of test plans, test procedures, test automation, test reports, and execution of integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs) or offsite locations.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.  
• Current DoD Top Secret
• Experience with Software Baseline Integration.
• Understanding of Automated Testing Framework
• Basic understanding of java
• Familiarity working in a Linux environment.
• Understanding of basic docker concepts

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years with a Masters; 4 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
• Current DoD Top Secret
• Experience with Software Baseline Integration.
• Understanding of Automated Testing Framework
• Basic understanding of java
• Familiarity working in a Linux environment.
• Understanding of basic docker concepts

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Top Secret/SCI clearance
• Proficient in Kubernetes: ability to debug services that run-in cluster through command line and/or rancher.
• Experience with deploying services via Helm.
• Experience with deploying services via Helmfile.
• Proficient with using Git for source code management.
• Ability to debug and problem solve when things don’t work out of the box.
• Experience working in a cross-functional agile team.
• Experience building and maintaining configuration.

Salary Range: $93,000.00 – $139,600.00Salary Range 2: $115,400.00 – $173,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
