Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGPS) seeks to fill a Principal / Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program.
This position will sit at our Morrisville, NC office.
Hybrid/remote work is not available.
This position may be performed at a Principal DevOps Engineer level or Senior Principal DevOps Engineer level depending on the qualifications, skills, and experience of the candidate.
The DevOps Engineer will….
Plans and evolves processes and infrastructure to execute programs which support rapid maturation and deployment of capability while sustaining a stable security posture and incorporating ongoing stakeholder feedback.
Integrates development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks.
Implements provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging, componentizing, or Cloud distribution.
Functions with agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback.
Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
This position entails system administration work for a software development team using new technologies.
Basic Qualifications
Principal DevOps Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD. 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Senior Principal DevOps Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD. 13 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
The successful candidate will demonstrate they can collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the end-to-end SW dev lifecycle in a cloud environment
Current IAT Level II Certification
Current, active TS/SCI on day 1 required

Salary Range: $97,500.00 – $146,300.00Salary Range 2: $121,000.00 – $181,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
