Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Configuration Management Lead to support the Systems Engineering organization. The Production Configuration Management Lead will support the F-35 Air Systems Integration IPT and lead a team of 2-3 configuration analysts on the F-35 program. This position will be located in Redondo Beach (Space Park), California or Palmdale, California. This position does require occasional odd shifts, weekend work and travel between Redondo Beach, Palmdale, and El Segundo, as well as up to 10% of other travel. The selected candidate is required to have the ability to learn and understand industry Configuration Management practices, and Configuration Identification and Change Management processes, as well as understanding the Sector and Program principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
Essential Functions:
• Focal point for Configuration Management and Data Management in Production area to ensure cross-team communication and execution.
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings, as well as provide status and visibility to Program Management and the working team
• Coordinate with the customer on issues and meeting implementation dates.
• Represent Production CM team in program and customer meetings
• Provide daily oversight of and guidance to Production CM team members
• Maintain Configuration Management Command Media, Work Instructions and perform updates as required.
• Assess and optimize processes to meet program cost/schedule/technical/quality needs
• Perform CDM metrics on a weekly basis and support Program prep meetings.
• Support Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) As Built reconciliation efforts.
• Proficient in or willingness to by trained on TeamCenter Enterprise (PDM), Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) and the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) tools, understanding of Bill-of-Materials (Engineering & Manufacturing) and product structure.
• Interface with other organizations to resolve issues associated with Configuration Management, including Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Supply Chain and Quality Assurance issues.
• Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations for configuration issues/escapes
• Address questions received from the customer as it relates to CSA, reconciliation on delivered products and serialization requirements. Have or attain knowledge and understanding of Item Unique Identification (IUID) requirements.
• The selected candidate must be able to support audit processes, update procedures, and communicate effectively and clearly.
• The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• Understand statement of work and address any issues, impacts and risks.
• Requires meticulous attention to detail while maintaining control over all documents in flow. The selected candidate should have good coordination, planning, and documentation skills.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience; OR 3 years of related experience with a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline
• Experience leading projects
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively team with multiple organizational disciplines
• Team leadership and technical delegation experience highly desired
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and create metrics, presentation and create work instructions
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

• Government Contracts Experience
• Experience developing, evaluating or auditing plans, processes and procedures
• Experience with Lean concepts
• Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action
• Experience with Engineering, Manufacturing and Test documentation
• Experience with understanding Engineering requirements
• An active DoD secret clearance
Salary Range: $107,300.00 – $160,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
