Our Team is seeking a b>Propulsion Engineer. We provide the resources, inspiration and focus—if you have the passion and courage to dream big, then we want to build a better tomorrow with you.
In this role you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.
Your duties will include responsibility for the design, manufacture, procurement and test for the propulsion system components and assemblies. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities.
Other duties may include:
•Support Subsystem Integration
•Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components
•Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution
•Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
•Evaluation and dispositioning of MRB items for boost rocket motor components
•Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components
•Provide requirements flow-down, verification, and maintain technical baseline at the suppliers
•Ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.
•Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
•Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.

How Much Experience Is Required For This Level 2 Opportunity?
• Bachelor Degree plus 2 years’ of applicable experience OR
• Master of Science Degree with 0 years of experience.
Basic Qualifications:
You Must Meet Each Of The BQs Below
•Experience with 1st order analysis in fluids, statics and dynamics, heat transfer/ thermal.
•Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting
•Understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals
•Desire and ability to own technical challenges through solution
• No Clearance is Required Prior to Start but you must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience or Familiarity with Composites Manufacturing
• Familiarity with Fluid Mechanics
•Familiarity with Propulsion system integration
•Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
•Hands on Hardware experience
•User of CREO CAD software or similar
•Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, structural/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…)
•Knowledge of Requirement development and management
•Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
