Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Director Integrated Product Team Lead (IPT) for the Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout (IAT&C) team on the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.
The AVE IAT&C IPT Lead is responsible for all test planning, test execution, test facilities management, and customer cultivation related to test of the AVE. Responsibility also extends to leading and coordinating AVE related test and integration activities at our Missile Processing Facility (Promontory) as well as integration and launch preparations at Vandenberg Space Force Base throughout the flight test campaign. AVE IAT&C is the custodian of the AVE Integrated Test Plan (ITP) which accumulates all test objectives and scope for AVE testing occurring at all levels. The IAT&C IPT lead attends and coordinates with the Test Production Working Group (TPWG), and in general, establishes testing best practices and expectations for AVE as a whole by working with other AVE Element Integration and Test leads.
To succeed in this role the ideal candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and willing and able to take on the status quo with respect to business processes and program team roles/responsibilities in a tactful and productive manner while defining new innovative ways of doing business and achieving program objectives in an evolving development program.
In this position, the AVE IAT&C IPT Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following focus areas:
Manage and Direct:
Lead and staff a diverse team of engineers and technicians of 50-70 team members or more while executing a baseline schedule and budget with earned value principals.
Plan and Coordinate:
Multiple company system development team deliveries, facilities readiness, test objectives and customers to achieve program objectives, including qualification of the AVE.
System Architecture:
Drive the development of test objectives within the system architecture in coordination with systems engineering and IPTs.
Design Change Impact Assessment:
Ensure that design changes in hardware and software are compatible with existing components and subsystems, particularly for efforts requiring the support of more than one engineering discipline
Multi-disciplinary Interface Management:
Develop comprehensive test and interface requirements and lead the test effort, ensuring cross-element or cross-segment communication.
Requirements-based Testing:
Ensure program master test plans, integration concepts and integration flows developed by the Integrated Operations Team are constructed in a Test Like You Fly manner.
First Flight Item and TLYF Management:
Effectively utilize TLYF Assessments early in the system architecture and design phase to identify and mitigate risks.
Data Review Management:
Lead the process and review products for formal data review. Hold the engineering teams accountable for objective, efficient and timely review of test data
Risk Management:
Facilitate risk management process and review board in coordination with the AVE Integration and Test Lead
RTCL Management:
Facilitate successful planning and execution of real-time hardware and software in the loop testing in coordination with product IPTs.
Safety:
Facilitate a culture of safety and risk identification and assure proper training curriculum is in place for testing and operations. In addition, facilitate a culture where it is safe and expected for team members to speak up if there is a concern.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $181,000.00 – $271,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
