We’re seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our team and lead the way in deploying, managing, and coaching teams for large-scale agile deployment.
This role will lead our Agile Release Train (ART) responsible for the physical buildup of the Next Generation Geosynchronous (NGG) Overhead Persistent Infrared System (OPIR) Functional Test Assembly (FTA). The Next-Gen OPIR satellites are designed to detect and track ballistic missile launches, providing early warning of potential attacks. These advanced spacecrafts use infrared sensors to identify the heat signatures of incoming missiles and securely transmit this critical information to ground stations.
The NGG OPIR FTA Lab supports Space Vehicle design, development, qualification, and operations. The NGG FTA uses a combination of flight like hardware, emulations, software, simulations and tools to represent a fully functioning space vehicle on the ground or in orbit. The FTA Lab provides a platform for the development, test, and integration of both hardware (HW) and software (SW) products.

Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of multidisciplinary engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Oversee the end-to-end deployment process for large-scale product, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.

• Manage the day-to-day operational duties associated with functional management.
• Mastery in conflict management and resolution to support significant integration of multiple deliverables and conflicting priorities of both internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to balance and communicate technical and political requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ experience effectively managing and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Cross-functional engineering experience, able to cover Electrical, Mechanical, Software and/ or Systems Engineering
• Proficiency with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Cost Account Management (CAM) techniques and tracking
Active Secret Security Clearance required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Preference for this requisition will be given to Space Employees.
Desired Skills:
• Focused expertise on staffing, budget and schedule execution within control accounts
• Expertise and/or understanding of space vehicles operations and missions
• Experience in Change Management
• Proficiency with Jira, Structure and/or Agile Hive
• Proven experience in successfully deploying and/or leading large-scale SAFe initiatives.
• Deep understanding and practical application of Agile principles (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).
• Hands-On Hardware Integration Experience
• Certified Scrum Product Owner or equivalent
• SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification or Similar
• Servant leader Mindset
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in complex technical environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 – $236,800 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $142,100 – $267,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
