These technologies have supported nearly 50 years of space missions from NASA planetary missions as far-reaching as Pluto to national security missions.
Summary
We have a current opportunity for a Sr Systems Engineer (Contractor for a period of up to 12 months with the potential for extension), working from our Marlborough, MA office. This role will support a DoD application for our Star Tracker Navigational Sensor. In this role, you will take on requirements management in including review, decomposition, and mapping to qualification and acceptance testing criteria and methods. You will be instrumental in supporting test methods and procedures to ensure customer and self derived requirements are met. You will be responsible for related customer SDRL items such as plans and procedure documents, compliance reports or other areas that require attention.
Responsibilities:
Lead technical team through requirements for development, testing, verification, and validation
Help ensure product development focuses on a compliant product and successful CDR milestone.
Manage Interface Control Documents and communication between cross-functional teams.
Though none expected, an ability to support work-related travel.
Ideal Experience:
A bachelors degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5 years in a system engineering role in space, missile, or aeronautical operations
Experience in writing technical reports compliant to customer-specified content and depth of analysis.
Familiar with the development and verification of embedded processor systems.
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in assessing test reports, developing test plans, and refining test procedures.
Desired Skills:
Experience with space systems engineering including an understanding of space vehicle design, space system architecture development, and space missions and operations development.
Experience with NASA or DoD lifecycle reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR)
Can self-organize with minimal oversight.
Have the ability to coordinate and collaborate across engineering teams.
Experience with requirement tracking tools such as DOORs, Jama, R4J, or similar
Experience with workflow management tools such as Jira
Prior experience developing space systems for challenging environments and missions.
Experience participating in technical execution for systems development.
Experienced with camera-based systems and performance verification a plus.
