Sierra Space is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer – Mission Analyst to join our expanding Orbital Mission Systems team. The Sr Systems Engineer – Mission Analyst will work to define mission parameters and derive driving mission requirements as part of a novel spacecraft development using mission level modeling and simulation techniques. The Sr Systems Engineer – Mission Analyst will create constellation models to evaluate mission performance parameters. The successful candidate should possess an enthusiasm for space protection and systems development and should demonstrate the ability to understand mission objectives to produce relevant mission modeling and simulation data.

Job duties will include:
Deriving Ground Segment requirements and interfaces, developing segment CONOPS, performing technical trades, leading segment-level technical design efforts, and delivering an effective Ground Segment.
Communication of Ground Segment technical products to peers, leadership and customers in electronic, presented and documented forms.
Drafting supplier SOWs, specifications and managing suppliers in concert with the supply chain management team as required.
Integration of ground software and hardware into SoftSat and FlatSat environments.
Leading ground segment V&V activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in related field of study.
Experience with DoD modeling environments (Brawler, Suppressor, AFSIM, EADSIM, ESAMS, etc).
Ability to independently research, adapt and/or develop mission analysis tools to solve novel problems.
Ability to trade mission attributes to achieve design to cost and schedule constraints while maintaining mission objectives.
Experience participating in Systems Engineering activities through successful completion of design milestones such as System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), System Functional Reviews (SFRs), and Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDRs and CDRs).
Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
Experience across all phases of the program development lifecycle, from capture through design, implementation and test.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
