Redwire Space, located in Jacksonville, FL, has a current opportunity for a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for providing daily & administrative support to the Manager of Accounting operations, including daily entry into the accounting system. Requires an attention to detail and solid analytical, organizational and communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares general ledger entries as needed and reconciles all balance sheet accounts.
- Performs month-end close functions including preparing and/or reviewing of journal entries for month-end close ensuring transactions are reasonable and in compliance with Business Processes, GAAP and FAR.
- Requires data/transaction retrieval/analysis from external sources.
- Verify accuracy of accounting documents & records.
- Updates, reconciles, and maintains accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (i.e., expense vouchers, invoices, receipts, disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.).
- Ensures all accounting processes are being conducted in accordance with established standards procedures, and applicable laws.
- Must be a hands-on accountant, being able to shift gears as needed.
- Some limited travel may be required.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance is required.
- A minimum of 2 or more years of accounting experience required.
- Experience and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamic GP.)
- Knowledge of general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledgers and month end closings.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
