We’re on the hunt for a Structural Engineer, tooling on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:
As part of an engineering team and under the supervision of a more experienced professional, the successful candidate will establish the structural design of critical tooling for the assembly and testing of space equipment.
Using standard methods or with the help of finite element models and other softwares, the structural analyst performs calculations to demonstrate the resistance of equipments & their compliance with standards.
The position requires the ability to carry out studies & analyses, interpret results and draw conclusions.
Tasks:
- Size components, identify problem areas, suggest modifications or guide the design if necessary.
- Calculate margins of safety and document the analyses.
- Establish specifications for equipment or subsystems.
- May be called to supervise more junior analysts.
- May assist in the evaluation of costs and schedules
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent,
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Resistance of Materials,
- Practical knowledge of the Finite Element Method, preferably Nastran in an Nx environment
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the space and defense industry,
- Ability to work under tight deadlines,
- Experience in structural testing,

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
