Role Description
As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving the successful execution of complex aerospace projects from conception through deployment. Your role will involve creating detailed project schedules, establishing clear requirements, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration by proactively identifying and removing obstacles. You will work closely with engineering, production, and business teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules that outline key milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure timely project completion.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to define and document project requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical capabilities.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among diverse teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive project success.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving project-related issues, removing blockers, and ensuring teams have the necessary resources to meet objectives.
- Track project progress against established metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders and adjusting plans as necessary to achieve goals.
- Evaluate and refine project management processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and team productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in being in a program management position.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects involving hardware and software components.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and product development lifecycles.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with aerospace systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or satellite technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the aerospace industry.
- Certification in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile).
- Experience with risk management and quality assurance processes.
