Job Description:
Telespazio is a joint venture between Leonardo (67%) and Thales (33%) and one of the world’s biggest suppliers of satellite solutions and services. Highlights of the role:
He/she will be involved in Earth Observation or Telecommunication space missions.
He/she will be responsible for E2E System or Ground Segment engineering in missions where Telespazio is either Prime Contractor with a Large Mission Integrator role, implementing innovative mission concepts.
In the design phase, starting from input requirements he/she will define the E2E System or Ground segment decomposition, proposing requirement allocation to subsystem. He/she will design state of the art System and Ground segment architectures, taking into account reuse/upgrading of existing components or new development. He/she will be in charge of performing system budget and trade off analysis. He/she will perform mission analysis and define the mission Operational Concepts in collaboration with the Operational experts. During the development phase, he/she will support or directly coordinate the development activities of the system and/or subsystems. During the AIT phase he/she will be in charge of supporting the AIV activities of the System or Ground Segment and its sub-systems. He/She will also be part of the integrated AIV team for the execution of the integration, verification and validation test campaigns.

- System, Ground Segment and Sub-systems development supervision
- Mission analysis and Concept of Operations definition
- Contribution to In Orbit Plan, Nominal Operations Plan and Maintenance Plan definition
- Contribution to AIV team for the execution of the integration, verification and validation test campaigns
Qualifications / Experience
- Master’s degree or comparable in Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent qualification, preferably in engineering or Remote Sensing
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
Essential Skills
- Experience in Earth Observation and/or Telecommunication E2E System and/or Ground Segment engineering, design, analysis and trade off
- Experience in mission analysis
- System Engineering methodologies and tools for system functional analysis, including requirement and interfaces management
- Knowledge of system engineering processes, and system and software life-cycles and standards;
- Good English knowledge
Desirable Skills
- Experience in Earth Observation or Telecommunication programs (e.g. Ground Segments for Defence applications)
- Experience in Telecommunication and/or Earth Observation sub-systems engineering, design, analysis and trade off
- Experience in software development from design to the implementation and tests
- Experience in Ground Segment and sub-system development, qualification and acceptance
- Experience using Project tracking and Management tools
